Winter Sun Garden Design and Appreciation Course.
We used to spend much of our time abroad, filming and creating gardens. Now, however most of the year is spent creating gardens in England. We do though have to admit to preferring the climate in the Algarve or on the Cote d'Azure during the dark days of an English winter. So if you need a garden expert for your holiday home or place in the sun we are always happy to help.
If you don't own such a property, but feel the same way we do about the weather, you may care to join us anyway. We teach garden design at The Hotel Garbe at Armacao de Pera in the Algarve. The 2008 course consists of 4 x 2.5hr sessions (10a.m. until 12.30p.m.) on February 11th, 12th, 14th & 15th. Price per person 140 Euros. Accommodation is available at the Hotel Garbe - contact Vicki Good at hotelgarbe@mail.telepac.pt or telephone 0035 282 320260. For more information http://newsatgarbe.blogspot.com
Consultation, publicity and marketing.
We are now in a position to act as gardening and marketing consultants for the larger garden.
Marylyn has spent most of her working life "in the media". Much of this with newspapers and TV. She was responsible for all of the publicity with the restoration of the gardens at Harlaxton Manor and our former garden at Le Manoir at Port de Roche in Brittany. Both projects became the subjects for TV series and numerous TV news items as well as appearing in newspapers and magazines. She therefore understands how to get the best results from the media without the need for expensive advertising.
Alan spent his early years running large gardens open to the public on limited budgets. He understands gardeners, owners, their needs and how to develop and maintain gardens cost effectively.
Together we now offer a new service for gardens that open to the public. Alan offers horticultural advice and Marylyn offers help with publicity and marketing. Having managed many top gardens and then increased public awareness of them with TV, radio and magazines for years, why not see if we can help you?
Garden Visits.
Our own garden at Caythorpe in Lincolnshire is now seven years old, still developing and open for specialist groups to visit on just a few dates each year. We do open for charity and we support the National Gardens Scheme, Perennial (formerly the Gardeners' Royal Benevolent Society) and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
